Corvette Dineris one of the twenty-four restaurants owned and operated by the Cohen family. They have restaurants all around Southern California and Maui. Their first restaurant was a small diner that was opened in 1981.
With the help of their son Jeremy, daughter Jessica and son-in-law Mike, David and Lesley love that their restaurants are family owned and operated. They focus on treating their employees as well as they would treat guests. With over one thousand employees that is a lot to keep up with.
Corvette Diner is located at Loma Portal, Liberty Station and Point Loma in beautiful San Diego, California. Each of their locations vary in design and food to reach all foodies in the area. Their restaurants have won many awards in the San Diego area.
No wonder there are close to twenty-four hundred positive posts online. Corvette Diner has a star rating of four point four and that is nothing to sneeze at!
Hodad’s in Ocean Beach is located between Bacon Street and Abbott Street. Their first location was opened in 1969 by Byron and Virginia Hardin at the end of Santa Monica Avenue in Ocean Beach. They expanded their business in 2012 by opening a seasonal restaurant at the San Diego Padres home of Petco Park.
Byron and Virginia’s son, Mike, got involved in Hodad’s and became a master Burgermeister. Not only was Mike a great dad, he was a philosopher, a joker, a businessman and a surfer (you cannot live in San Diego and not be a surfer).
Today, Mikes adult children, Lexi and Shane Hardin run the family empire. They worked by their fathers’ side for years learning the restaurant trade, so it was natural for them to keep on the tradition.
Hodad’s was featured on the wildly popular Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives during the second season of the show in 2007. They were then featured on a local cooking show called Sam the Cooking Guy with Sam Zein.
It is funny how some cities have great restaurants with very few internet posts. Looks like Hodad’s has such a loyal following because they have well over four thousand three hundred of them giving them a four-point seven-star rating.
